Indoor Activities that help your child have fun, learn and develop.

                    Children are in a constant need to play and learn๐Ÿ˜€. It’s hard to keep them indoors!. However, you can set up a few activities at home that require very less preparation time and provides more fun and learning to your child at the same and keep them busy and away from screens! and provides some peaceful time๐Ÿ’†‍♀️ for mommies and daddies too, which is a bonus!๐Ÿ‘

 

                  Following are some activities that you can set up at home to help your child have fun, learn and develop at the same time.

 
1. Bubbles play -

               This activity needs hardly any preparation time and helps your child have fun and develop at the same time.


Things you need :

 
- Bowl, tumbler, jar anything you can add water in and water.๐Ÿ’ง
- Child-friendly bubble liquid, ๐Ÿงดtear-free shampoo, bubble wash!.
- A bubble blower gun๐Ÿ”ซ, bubble wands or anything that has a loop would work!.๐Ÿ˜€
 

            Combine a good amount of child-friendly bubble liquid/soap and little amount of water. Transfer it to a container of your choice, use a bubble blower gun, bubble wand or any loop and let your child have fun making bubbles and enjoy!

           Develops visual tracking skills, oral-motor skills, spatial awareness and directionality, fine motor development, Gross motor movement, balance and strength development hand-eye coordination, hand dominance.

2. Transfer, Scoop and Pour -

This activity needs very less preparation time and help your child have fun, learn and develop skills at the same time.

Things you need :

- Stacking cups or any bowls ๐Ÿฅฃand moulds/glasses/tumblers/bottles of different sizes and shapes.
- Rice, beans, water beads and water๐Ÿ’ง - you can add food/child-safe colours to make it look more fascinating for the child.
- Spoons๐Ÿฅ„, scoops, funnels.
- A large tray to set the things and a rug/runner to make your child sit comfortably and soak up the water spilt.

Arrange the things in a large tray and let your child have fun transferring, scooping, pouring and combining things between containers using spoons, scoops or whatever they decide to! Make sure to keep your choices colourful!

Development of fine motor skills, dexterity, hand dominance, hand-eye coordination, your child will learn about different states of matter solids & liquids, gravity, cause and effect ๐Ÿ˜Ž, develops understanding of sizes, shapes, volumes, weights, provides sensory stimulation.

3. Wash, Scrub and Dry๐Ÿงผ๐Ÿงฝ -

This activity is easy to set up, requires less materials and provides great fun! and get the toys squeaky clean at the same time!๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Things you need :

- Two medium tub/inflatable pool and water - add food/child-safe colour to make it fascinating!.๐Ÿคฉ
- Bath toys, squeaky toys, small toys, cars, animals anything!.
- Child-friendly liquid soap for the bubbles!.
- Toothbrushes, sponges, scrubbers, towel to dry the toys and a rug/runner to make your child sit comfortably and soak up the water spilt.

Pour a decent amount of water to one tub/inflatable pool, add some child-friendly liquid soap for the bubbles, put the toys, fill the other tub with clean water for rinsing the toys and let your child have fun cleaning the toys and learn life skills!.

4. Colouring/Painting๐ŸŒˆ๐ŸŽจ -

This activity requires just a little preparation time and helps your child to unwind, get creative, have fun, learn and develop at the same time!

Things you need :

- Non-toxic, child-safe, finger painting colours and washable colours!๐ŸŽจ, water ๐Ÿ’ง, drawing sheets, charts, book, or old calendars to paint on.
- Colour tray or tray with compartments like Ice cube tray, muffin tray, bowls.
- Brushes and sponges of different sizes shapes, stamps and seals.

Mix many colours with water and spread the drawing/painting sheets, different brushes, sponges, stamps and seals. Let the child paint his/her imagination, use their fingers and hands to paint!๐Ÿ– have fun and enjoy!

5 . Treasure hunt/Sensory tray -

This is an amazing activity, it takes very little time to set up. It helps your child develop and have fun at the same time!.

Things you need :

- A large tray or bin.
- Rice grains or any grain, cornmeal, water beads or play sand.
- Small toys, cars, balls, alphabets or anything you prefer.
- Small bowls, scoops, tumblers or small containers.

Fill the tray/bin with play sand or grains, hide in the toys, place few bowls, scoops or small containers. Let your little adventurer hunt for the toys, explore different textures, have fun and learn.

Benefits : 

Develops hand-eye coordination, develops fine motor skills, develops problem-solving skills, develops math skills, promotes tactile learning, child learns patience, provides sensory stimulation.
