Fun ways to teach ‘Alphabets’ to toddlers and preschoolers!.

                    Making toddlers and preschoolers learn the ‘Alphabets’ or ‘Letters’ is an arduous task!πŸ˜…. These teeny weeny humans!πŸ§’ have shorter attention spans which makes it difficult to keep them engaged for the long alphabet trails!. 



                     However, one can resort to interesting ways in which the task of learning alphabets will seem to be fun for the kids and keeps them engaged without dreading the learning process!.


Following are a few fun ways to make the kids learn and have fun with the ‘Alphabets’ -


1. Eat the ‘Alphabets’ -

                        This is an amazing way in which one can teach and feed the child at the same time!.πŸ˜€. Have fun with the child by asking them to name the Alphabet before eating the Alphabet. You can ask the child to play the role of an Alphabet eating monster!πŸ‘Ύ who names and chomps the Alphabets!.


- You can make use of Alphabet pasta, cereals, crackers and other varieties of packaged foods!. 

- You can use edible food markers and write down the Alphabets on gems, cookies πŸͺor anything you like!.

- You can make Alphabet fruit, cookies, and pancakesπŸ₯ž with the help of Alphabet cookie cutters.

2. Wash and squeeze the ‘Alphabets’ -

                                           Children love to play with water!πŸ’¦ and this activity helps the child learn the Alphabets in a fun way and at the same time boosts the child’s development through the sensory play!. You can mix some bubble liquid soap🧴 in a tub of water along with a scrubber sponge🧽 and ask your child to scrub the alphabets and give them a good bath! then wash in another clean water tub and align the alphabets on a towel spread to dry in alphabetic order!. 3. Blow and Pop the ‘Alphabets’ -

                                 This is an absolutely fun way to teach the Alphabets to children. You can write the alphabet with a marker or stick the alphabet on each balloon🎈then ask the child to name the alphabet before blowing the balloon and securing it. You can stick the balloons to wall or floor and ask the child to pop the alphabet balloon with the help of a toothpick or any sharp object( not too sharp, child safety) that you name!. You can skip the step of poppingπŸ“Œ the balloon if you don’t want to waste balloons! But once in a while, you can let the child pop them and have fun!. This activity helps to improve their hand-eye coordination and cognitive skills.


- You can use pastel colour balloons to make the alphabets stand out.

- You can use a smudge-proof marker to write the alphabets or you can use large alphabet stickers.

- You can use double-sided tape to stick the alphabets to the wall or floor.

This is an interesting way in which you provide the necessary sensory play to develop and learn the alphabets at the same time. You can use play dough and help the child to shape and create an alphabet or simply use an alphabet mould to create the colourful alphabets!. This activity helps improve their cognitive skills, fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.


- You can use play dough of different colours and textures to keep the child interested for long periods.

                             This is another fascinating way in which you can teach the child Alphabets without stressing out.
